Curriculum Features – Web Adventures
Our Web Adventures are interactive online exploratory activities that will educate and delight your gifted child. They will not only engage your gifted child in an enriching online activity, they will prepare them for research projects and navigating the Information Superhighway. These Web Adventures will cause your kids to have so much fun; they won’t realize that they are developing a valuable skill.
For example, our Crime Scene Investigation course features a thrilling interactive online mystery. Children will investigate a true-to-life crime scene. They will look for clues, brush for fingerprints, and interrogate witnesses. They will then take fingerprints, blood samples, and other suspicious items fresh from the scene of the crime to the crime lab for analysis. Using science and actual forensics procedures, students in our gifted education program will interpret the data that they have collected. From there, gifted program students will go about catching the perpetrator.

Another Web Adventure is a virtual tour of the Smithsonian Art Museum. Students in our gifted education program will view landmark works of art online in a virtual museum environment. This interactive Web Adventure allows gifted education students to learn in a fun environment that persuades them to interact with the museum in unconventional ways. Bringing suspense, drama, introspection, and comedy to the world of artistic expression, it’s a fun and unique way for children to develop an appreciation for the arts.
Learning through Web Adventures will encourage children to actively engage the subject matter. Learning from a textbook is largely a passive exercise. With Web Adventures, the learning process becomes a dynamic, active experience. Children are much more likely to process and retain information when it is presented in this innovative fashion.
