Curriculum Features – Research & Hands-on Projects

Research and Projects

Our gifted education curriculum is full of hands-on projects that will inspire and engage your gifted child.

Students at The National Academy for the Gifted will design sculptures out of clay, test their hypotheses with scientific experiments, build innovative websites, express their imagination through a variety of artistic media, and construct new worlds with craft supplies.

Our Research Projects are wonderful opportunities for our gifted school students to build skills that will greatly benefit them later in life.  The ability to thoroughly research a topic in order to create a clear and complete analysis of said topic is something that college students must do every day.  We enable gifted education students to have an edge upon entering college by building those skills now.

At The National Academy for the Gifted, students become familiar using online dictionaries, thesauruses, encyclopedias, and other sources of information.  They will be able to readily find answers to questions with a simple Internet search.

Hands-on gifted education projects are wonderful for tactile/kinesthetic learners. Students gifted with this learning style tend to learn best by using their hands.  Our hands-on projects challenge students to actively engage their learning material; working with it as opposed to learning about it.  These projects not only develop tactile/kinesthetic abilities but also provide an avenue for creative expression in many cases.
