Curriculum Features – Learning Games
At The National Academy for the Gifted, we believe that learning doesn’t have to be a chore. One of the ways we bring fun and excitement to the learning process is through interactive online games.
Our extensive (and growing!) library of online games includes animated “video game” style edutainment. Some of these games require students in our gifted education to solve mysteries or work through complex mathematical conundrums. One of our games teaches children how to tell time by working with a virtual clock. Others are more relaxed and are designed to serve as a quick break from regular study. Games of this nature include a fun game where young students can dress a snowman in different hats, scarves, and other items. Games enable children to interact with the subject matter they are assigned to learn. They will retain the information at a higher frequency and obtain a deeper understanding of abstract concepts through interaction.
Our learning games include board-game style games, puzzles of all kinds, word searches, logic exercises, word games, riddles, and other mind-benders. This kind of learning is great for gifted school students with logical giftedness. Working through problems in the contest of a game is a fun way for students to learn. After a stretch of reading or working through math problems, a learning game can be a wonderful way to relax while still exercising the mind. Your gifted children will approach learning with a rare natural curiosity and excitement.
With our innovative approach, you’ll find that your children can’t wait to start school each day.
