The art of moviemaking rocked the art world a century ago.  Since then, it has grown in popularity and critical appreciation as a high art form along with painting, theater, and song.  We will study cinema history from silent films through noir, comedy, suspense, romance, and more.  A good film can shape our perception of reality.  Learn what to look for in the elements of film and appreciate the power of cinema in a socio-cultural framework.
